Zenicor Medtech Company of the Year
In connection with Swedish Medtech’s CEO day, MedTech Magazine presented the award for Medtech Company of the Year 2011.
Jury’s motivation:
“A golden example of using IT to make the care chain more efficient while breaking down the boundaries between in-patient care and healthcare, helping to redesign and simplify care, even in the home.
For a determined effort to build up an excellent Swedish medtech company from scratch with its own funds. Since its start eight years ago, the company has grown with stable profitability and is now successful in remote diagnostics.
The company is a shining example of what is known as ‘open innovation’, with R&D taking place in well-established, modern partnerships with various research centres in Sweden, including Karolinska Institutet. The company addresses a major global problem with an IT solution that brings care closer to the patient, provides better, more flexible opportunities for diagnosis, and reduces the burden on healthcare. The company is growing by about 50% per year and has succeeded in generating a profit throughout its existence.”
